A Beacon Amidst Shadows: A Lighthouse Themed Anthology

Such a long and not-so-long day is coming!

Hello and welcome, friends! Today marks the release of A Beacon Amidst Shadows!

I was fortunate to be chosen among a group of talented writers to participate in this exciting project. About six months ago, I gathered my gumption and entered a contest by the good folks at Three Ravens Publishing. I’m not one for short stories, but I have explored short plays and thought it couldn’t be much different. I wasn’t wrong there, but it did feel different. A little more approachable, less daunting, and much easier to organize!

My story within tells the tale of a solitary witch and a bumbling knight. Our duo meet on a stormy evening amidst unlikely circumstances. During the encounter, they discover friendship and uncover a new purpose in a tale of whimsical magic at a coastal lighthouse. 

In discovering the story, I was able to convey, albeit in a shortened glimpse, a bit of what often brings my words to life: strange circumstances, characters with unpredictable and sometimes irrational motivations, and above all, hope—hope that there will be a happy ending despite the madness the world can sometimes bring.
